Two Periodical Surveys of Individuals and Organization Works Institute

Works designs for and conducts a variety of surveys fine-tuned to analyze how individuals work and interact with organization, with the aim of suggesting ideas for human resources management. The biennial Working Persons Survey asks individuals working in traditional and nontraditional work styles: how they really feel about their jobs, what are important factors for potential job-switchers in making up their mind, and if they feel insecure about their job. Another biennial survey, the HCM Survey, targets corporate HR staff and asks about HR strategies, including the interplay among corporate strategy, HCM, and corporate performance, and how they retain or secure strategically capable employees in the HC portfolio. Works has conducted surveys not only of regular employees, but of more focused groups, such as nontraditional employees or student and non-student part-timers. Other focused surveys include the HC flow survey, a macro-level survey where HC from one industry to another within the private sector are plotted.
