Yukio Okubo (General Manager, Works Institute) Yukio Okubo joined Recruit Co., Ltd. in 1983 after graduating from Hitotsubashi University with a degree in economics. He reached his current position after working such as Manager of the Planning Section of the Human Resources Services and Director of the Area Information Services. He specializes in human resource management and labor market policy. He is the author of "Noryoku wo Tanoshimu Shakai" ("Enjoy Your Own Ability or Competency Based Japan", Nihon Keizai Shimbun). Masayuki Kakuho (Executive Researcher) Masayuki Kakuho was born in Tokyo. He joined Research Institute of Mitsui Knowledge Industry, Co., Ltd. in 1972 after graduating from the Tokyo Institute of Technology with a degree in social engineering. He was in charge of researches on the areas of economic forecast, labor, and education economics. After joining Recruit (transferred from the Recruit Research Co., Ltd.) in 1984, he was in charge of the information network operations for 3 years. He was then transferred back to Recruit Research and became Director in 1997. Along with business integration of Recruit Research, he became Chief Researcher of Works Institute, Recruit, in April 2001. Specializing in social engineering, he also serves as a visiting professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology. His major works include "Research on the Researchers Demand Forecast in 2000" (Ministry of Education) and "Research on the Future Trend of the Japanese Transfer Economics Society" (Economic Planning Agency). He is the author of "Recruit Version of the White Paper on Labor: WORKS REPORT'97, '98" (Recruit Research) and "Research Study on Economization of Services and Transformation of Family System"(NIRA). Masaaki Kudai (Executive Researcher / "Works" Editor) Massaaki Kudai earned his MA from Tokyo Institute of Technology and joined Recruit in 1988. After being assigned to Human Resources Department, he experienced human resources management operate including employee rotation, assessment, and promotion. Later on he consistently engaged on the reform project of the human resources organization as Manager of the Human Resources Department. He wants to extend diversity and depth of the means and reasons for individuals to work. His motto is "Individuals make the company." Study Group Emi Kasai (Chief Researcher) Emi Kasai graduated from Japan Women's University with a degree in Literature and joined Recruit in 1988. After editing and writing the specialized magazines related to human resource business, recruiting information, human resource management, she reached her current position in 2003. She researches non-employed labor (sole proprietor, subcontracting, and self-employed), professional career (5 steps of the professional awareness and unexpected experiences), and the relationship between career and ability of the elderly. Satoko Tatsumi (Chief Researcher) After graduation from School of Humanities at Kwansei Gakuin University, Ms Tatsumi joined Recruit Co., Ltd. in 1992. After being engaged in penetration of corporate philosophy and organization vitality at the Human Resources Management Consulting Division, she developed career support services for working adults. After being involved in career counseling services for senior high school students and unemployed senior high school graduates as a member of the career business development division, she has assumed her present position since April 2003. Her research performance on career guidance includes: - Proposal 'How to Integrate segmentalized career guidance' (2004) - Collaborative research with Gifu prefecture (2003-2005) - Basic skills training (School to Work) (2006) - Career guidance guidebook for the Mie Prefecture education committee (2007) Naoko Ishihara (Chief Researcher) After graduating from Keio University with a degree in law and serving in a commercial bank and a consulting firm, Naoko Ishihara joined Works Institute in July 2001. She investigated labor market trend, human resources portfolio and female executives and diversity. This year she will focus on HRM for Middle. She concurrently also serves in the Recruit Human Resources Department. Hideko Tokunaga (Researcher) Hideko Tokunaga was in charge of marketing for mid-career recruitment in the production department for the human resources recruitment business. Later on she was in charge of research and marketing on the recruiting trends of the companies and job search trends of the students in recruiting new graduates. She reached her current position in April 2001. She is mainly in charge of "Research on Applicant Ratio of the College Graduates" and "Recruitment Forecast." From now on she will research on women's career paths. Junko Hamanaka (Researcher) Junko Hamanaka earned her MA from the Graduate School of Education, the University of Tokyo, and worked as a Research Associate in the Center for Research of Core Academic Competences in the University of Tokyo untill March 2006. She joined the Works Institute, Recruit, in April 2006. While she dealt with the issues of higher education majoring in the Sociology of Education in the graduate school, she is currently expanding her fields and trying to find the "society that enriches everyone's life" by analyzing data. She became a Certified Social Researcher in 2005, and earned Ph.D. in education from the the University of Tokyo in 2005. Keiko Hataya (Guest Researcher) Keiko Hataya graduated from the Department of Psychology in the College of Arts of Rikkyo University and joined Recruit in 1986. After engaging in sales and production of the project of recruiting college and professional school students, serving in the Advertising Department and as Sales rep of the new project, she served as Planning Manager of the commercial products for the job-search magazines including "GAT'N" and "TRABAILLE." She retired from Recruit in 1998. She has been collecting data and information on recruitment in Works Institute since 2000, and has researched on marriage policy and child care support policy in falling birthrate as Guest Researcher since May 2005. She is also a career counselor of GCDF-Japan. Research Group Yoshihiro Toyoda (Chief Researcher) Yoshihiro Toyoda graduated from The University of Tokyo with a degree in science and joined Recruit in 1983. As a Production Manager, he set up strategies of recruiting new graduates and public relations planning for several hundred companies from big business in Japan to medium and small companies, and venture companies for a long time. Later on he was engaged in editing of job-search magazines including "Recruit Book" and "GAT'N", and he held the position of Chief Editor of "SHUSHOKU JOURNAL", "Recruit Book", and "Works." As Chief Researcher, he is currently searching the future model of organization/human resources management, transformation of employment structure, career design of the youth, and transformation of educational circles. He is the co-author of "Shinsotsu Mugyo (Unemployed Graduates): why don't they seek a solid job? "(Yukio Okubo ed., Works Institute, Toyo Keizai) Hisaki Shiraishi (Researcher) Hisaki Shiraishi was born in 1966. He joined Recruit after graduating college in 1990. After being in charge of the information magazines sales for six and a half years, he was engaged in the social researches in Recruit Research in 1996. He joined Recruit following the organizational reform in April 2001. He mainly researches on the research themes such as recruitment and employment, issues regarding various institutes of higher education, and willingness to apply for colleges and current living conditions of the high school students. His major research study works include "Research on Company Images of the College Students, "(1997-2000), "Research on the Application Ratio of the College Graduates"(1997-2000), "Research on the Working Persons 2000"(2000), "Research on the Human Resources Needs"(1999), "Research on the Employment of Arubaita (part-time worker)"(2000). Labor Policy Group Hiromi Murata (Chief Researcher) Hiromi Murata joined Recruit in 1983. After serving the General Affairs Department, the Human Resources Department, screening of recruiting ads, the Secretariat of the "Study Group on Enlarging Job Opportunities", as HRD Consultant and Researcher of the HRD Research Institute, and the department related to HR including new business development, she founded and joined Works Institute as the in-house research institute in 1999. She researched two projects of "Employment Policy in 21st Century" and "Mobility" as the public policy proposals in 2000. She has been in charge of Employment Policy Project since 2001 and published "Proposal for 2010: An Employment Policy to Tap Rich HC" in 2001, "The Ten Things We can do to Help the Youth Develop a Career: Overcoming Crises in Career" in 2002, and "The End of Permanent Employee Era: 10 Proposals to Build the New Human Resources Portfolio" in 2004. She participated in the educational activities on the employed & non-employed areas by proposing from the viewpoint of private sector such as establishment of the labor market for society in the next generation. She has specialized in external labor market and nonstandard employment. Her major researches and studies include public and private labor demand control system in the US and the major countries in Europe, human resource businesses in the US and the major countries in Europe (staffing services, job placement services, and online job search industry), and the Japanese model of business establishment (the independent sole proprietors). She recently published "Job Cafe?." Currently, she is a member of the Labor Administration press club of the Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry, the Information Science and Technology Association in Japan, The Japan Industrial Research Association, and the Career Design Institute. Keiko Fujikawa (Guest Researcher) Keiko Fujikawa earned Ph.D. from Osaka University Graduate School of Law and Politics. She joined Works Institute as a Guest Researcher in April 2001. She specializes in Labor Law and Labor Policy. She is especially conversant with the labor market in the US and Europe. She participated in founding the Works University and has been a member of Recruit Employment Policy Project since 2002. She is the author of "Employment System in the IT era" (Co-author, Nippon Hyoronsha, 2001), "Economic Analysis of Labor Policy" (Co-author, The Japan Institute for Labor Policy and Training, 2003), "Future of Working Life: Comparison of Nonstandard Work in Japan and the US"(Co-author, The Japan Institute for Labor Policy and Training, 2003), "Nonstandard Work in Developed Economies: Causes and Consequences" (Co-author, Upjohn Institute, 2003), "Instruction to establishing the Staffing Service Company and making profits" (Co-author, Pal Publishing, 2004). Miki Yamada (Researcher) Miki Yamada earned her MA from the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University, and joined the Japan Forum on International Relations, Inc. in 2002. She served as a researcher in charge of planning and management of the research programs in the fields of politics, economics, finance, culture, and education. She joined the Works Institute, Recruit, in 2006, and is mainly in charge of researches on the US government labor policies and the career centers in the colleges and universities in the US. "Works" Editorial Group Masakaze Goto (Editor) Masakaze Goto graduated from the Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Law of Keio University, and joined The Asahi Shimbun Company in 1992. After serving Branch Office Correspondent, Newspaper Editor, and Editor of the news site "Asahi.com," he joined Recruit in August 2000. He reached his current position in October 2002 after being in charge of planning and editing "Rikunabi," the job information site. He is the webmaster of Works Institute website. Shinsuke Ogino (Editor) Shinsuke Ogino was born in 1966. After graduating from Hitotsubashi University with a degree in law, he joined the PR company in 1989. He researched on the wide range of social manners, planned training and development programs of the company, and edited various products. He joined Works Institute in March 2001. Miyoko Uchida (Editor) Miyako Uchida was born in 1977. After graduating from Nagoya University with a degree in economics, she joined Nagoya University in 2001. She was in charge of the administration of Masters' courses on Business Management in Graduate School of Economics. She joined Works Institute in August 2004. She has been in charge of editing "Works" and website planning. |
