< Research on Career Education > (Researcher in charge: Tatsumi) Career education is meant to provide support for the increasing desire for employment and study by fostering the view of the career and work through capacity building necessary for the individual career development. Through the following methods, Works Institute presents the methods of learning the skills according to the career development based on the minimum required skills (=basic skills) to work in any kind of occupation or industry. 1> Policy Proposals for the Government Published the policy proposals on "Connecting the Divided Career Education," and clarified the 3 viewpoints necessary for the career education. The contents of the policy proposals have been realized in some regions in Japan since 2005. 2> Collaborative research with the board of education and the Division/Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Conducting the collaborative researches with the people involved in career education in order to increase the consistency and reproductively of career education. (a) Developing educational materials that can be used in school. Implementing training programs to promote the class management by teachers. (b) Jointly creating the career education frame and the manuals for the teachers with the prefecture educational board. (c) Lecture circuit in career education promotion areas and advises on designing the curriculum in schools 3> Support for career education movement in the industry association. Advising the companies for introducing and designing the career education program. |
